CHILDREN’S WEEK
Children’s week was celebrated from 13-10-08 to 17-10-08. The children participated in several competitions like essay writing, handwriting, elocution and Music. The The highlight of the competitions was the Sanskrit elocution where the entire program was conducted in Sanskrit, right from the welcome address to the vote of thanks. This instilled traditional values such as patriotism and an awareness of the country’s glories, personality development related values such as public speaking and leadership qualities

Manthan – India Vision 2020
Manthan - India Vision 2020, an exhibition was held on 14th, 15th and 16th November 08. The message 'Billion people - Billion ignited minds - Brilliant tomorrow', beautifully depicted India's glorious legacy coupled with its inspiring past right through the India of today to the India of the future. Inspired by Dr. A.P.J. Kalam's, 'Vision for India', students spoke eloquently on various topics such as ayurveda, astronomical sciences, culturally and economically rich India, value systems, modern means of transport, environmental needs, science and technology and conservation of resources. The exhibition was based on four main aspects: Our glorious legacy showed India's contribution to the world of science, medicine, astronomy, education system. The depiction of Ramayana and Mahabharata as well as the chanting of Vedic shlokas by the young students set a perfect stage of spiritual aura giving an insight to the ancient education being the core of modern education. Our Inspiring Past Students highlighted the immense role of industrialists in India. The young students portrayed their contribution and success through interesting role plays. They showcased traditions, values, music and dance and also contributions of, freedom fighters and scientists.

Matru Pitru Poojan
Matru Pitru Poojan was celebrated on 1st October 08 at Arya Gurukul amidst fun and frolic. This year the children watched their parents in awe while their parents performed the Pooja at the feet of their grandparents on the occasion of World Elders Day. The children chanted 'Matru Sthavanam' seeking their blessings and strength of virtue, exuding oodles of positive energy around them. Arya Gurukul makes an effort to bring the best of both the worlds to east and the west on one common platform. The students remain tethered to their roots, even while they march ahead with the modern world. The school laid emphasis on expressing love, gratitude and respect towards elders, parents and grandparents.

Vanamahotsav Celebration
Vanamahotsav Celebration 07th July 08: The event answered questions "what can a child do in return for nature's kindness?" "By becoming the future custodians of the Earth, and by saving, protecting and growing trees". Arya Gurukul celebrated Vanamahotsav with the traditional prabhat pheri in and around Arya Gurukul and Nandivili Village. The children became aware of the mutually nourishing relationship between man and various aspects of nature by participating in drawing and slogan competitions. Then the children marched singing praises to Mother Nature holding placards with these posters and slogans. The celebration made them aware of nature as a kind and loving parent. The activities stimulated social values in the children making them realize that man alone can keep the world together as one family
